Gazprom, “Agreement has been reached to finalize the procedures on permits at the soonest regarding the Turkish Stream”

Following disclosure has been made by Gazprom after the meeting: “Agreement has been reached with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to finalize the procedures on permits at the soonest regarding the Turkish Stream.” It is underlined that the parties have also discussed issues regarding a regional cooperation in the energy field, in the disclosure where it is stated that commercial negotiations will be continued on the transmission of Russian gas to Turkey.

The most important issues that will be discussed during technical and commercial talks on the Turkish Stream Project will be the number of pipelines, the amount of natural gas and the price of natural gas. As will be known, South Stream Company had made an EIA application to the Ministry of Environment and Urban Development for 4 parallel pipelines TEBA:1735/ October 13, 2015 On the other hand, Turkey favors a single pipeline with a capacity of 14.75 bcm. Under those circumstances, there will be no increase in the total amount of natural gas provided from Russia. Preparations were underway for talks on the initial pipeline most recently before the plane crisis between the two countries.
