The power generation made by Deriner HEPP as of the end of 2016 has been disclosed by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) which was tendered to the consortium constituted by Tecnostroyexport from Russia, Alstom Power from France, and Andritz Hydro from Austria led by Erg İnşaat Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş., and was transferred to EÜAŞ in November 2013 to be operated with all units.

It is stated in the disclosure made by DSİ that a power generation of 5 billion 170 million kilowatt hours was made by Deriner HEPP until the end of 2016, and that the HEPP made a contribution of TL 1.55 billion to the country’s economy. The power plant section of the dam with a body height of 249 meters consists of 4 units. The first of these units started power generation in July 2013, the second and the fourth in August 2013, and the third unit in October 2013. A power generation of around 5 billion 170 million kilowatt hours was made from the HEPP unit of Deriner Dam until the end of 2016 starting from the date of commissioning.

Deriner Dam & HEPP with an installed power of 670 MW which was put into operation by President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on December 12, 2012 has an annual production capacity of 2 billion 118 million kWh. Deriner Dam which is the highest dam in Turkey and the 6th highest dam in the world represents 2.5 percent of the total hydroelectric power generated in Turkey.

As will be known, Deriner Dam & Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) was tendered to the consortium constituted by Tecnostroyexport from Russia, Alstom Power from France, and Andritz Hydro from Austria led by Erg İnşaat Tic. ve San. A.Ş., in accordance with the Cabinet Decree published in 1994 within the framework of Turkish-Russian Joint Economic Committee (JEC) protocol TEBA:1722/ July 8, 2015
