STEAM, 17th International Energy Arena

The 17th International Energy Arena will be realized at Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus on the dates of February 23 & 24, 2017 with the theme of “Global Developments and Investment Environment”

The 17^th International Energy Arena organized by Strategic Technical Economic Researches Center (STEAM) will be realized at Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus on the dates of February 23 & 24, 2017 with the theme of “Global Developments and Investment Environment”.

Global economy and pipeline issues will be discussed with aspects of energy diplomacy during the arena, while proposals will be taken up for the solution of current financing problems.

Panels to be held during the first day of the panel that will start on February 23, 2017 will have the titles of International Maritime Law, Regulations and Energy Security, Energy-Security Relations, Investment Environment, Effects of Geopolitical and Recent Economic Developments on Energy Investments, and Alternative Options for Transmitting Regional Natural Gas to International Markets.

Panels to be held on February 24, 2017 will be titled as Financing of Energy Investments and East Mediterranean.

Outstanding participants of the Arena

Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR) and Chairman of the Board of Energy Market Operations Inc. (EPİAŞ) Fatih Dönmez, President of Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) Mustafa Yılmaz, World Bank’s Country Director for Turkey Johannes Zutt and Erica Olson, the Commercial Attache of the Embassy of the United States are expected to deliver speeches during the program.

Also, personalities such as the Country Director of Natixis Dr. Rıza Kadılar, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Country Director for Turkey Jean Patrick Marquet, KWF Turkey Office Director Thomas Selzer, Islamic Development Bank’s Deputy Country Director for Turkey Hummad Zafar Hundal, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Europe and Central Asia Natural Resources Director Fuphan Chou, Enerjisa Chief Financial Officer Sascha Bibert, Ata Invest Chairman of the Board Hakan Ferhatoğlu are expected to deliver speeches during the panels. Outstanding representatives from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Lebanon and Israel will also take part in the panels.
