İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy Metro Project

Test drives started on İstanbul Metropolitan Municipalty (İBB) Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy Metro line assumed by Doğuş İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş. will be the first unpiloted metro.

Line, realized the first cruise, expected to be inaugurated on 30 August. 20 km Metro line to play important role in Anatolian Side transportation, will comprise 16 stations, depot field and 2 thousand 750 meter tunnel connected to depot. Another first to be experienced in Üsküdar-Çekmeköy metro line will be the platform door in the stations. Under the application, passengers will travel safely and be prevented to fall on rails.

Metro line to operate with 126 wagons will carry about 65 thousand passengers per hour in one direction and will have daily 2.3 million passenger capacity. On the rails, full automatic and full unpiloted vehicles will be used, trains will have daily 65 thousand passenger capacity in one direction on about 80 km/h speed. Tunnels constructed along Metro line were bored with New Austria Tunnel Boring Method.

As it might be recalled, İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council had confirmed 19.99% estimation increase on the project assumed by Doğuş Group and credit to be secured on 112 million Euro corresponding to estimation increase TEBA:1808/ March 20, 2017. For construction and electromechanical works of Metro Project, the contract of which was signed with Doğuş İnşaat Group on March 7, 2012, about 85 million € credit financing was secured from UniCredit Bank AG, KfW, IPEX Bank GmbH, ING Bank N.V. Banks Consortium. Contract cost was set to be Euro 563,899,994.32 TEBA:1559/ April 30, 2012.

For 126 vehicles used on the line, contract was signed with Japan Mitsubishi Corp. On 119 million 28 thousand Euro. Japan group had also offered 200 million Euro credit TEBA:June 23, 2014.

Line to be extended up to Sultanbeyli

Transportation systems to be connected to Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe metro line are,

"From Üsküdar Station by Marmaray line to European Side, from Altunizade Station to cable car line and existing metrobus line, from Çarşı Station to Ümraniye-Ataşehir-Göztepe metro line, from Dudullu station to Dudullu-Bostancı metro line. In the meantime, from Çekmeköy station, line will be extended up to Sultanbeyli".
