The Annual Increase in CPI in June 2017 Realized as 10.90 Percent

Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) disclosed the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Domestic Producer Price Index (DPPI) figures for the month of June 2017. According to the disclosure, the annual inflation rate in Turkey has been determined 10.90 percent.

An decrease of 0.27 % is realized in CPI for the month of June 2017 compared to the previous month, an increase of 5.89 % compared to December last year, an increase of 10.90 % compared to the same month last year and 9.36 % according to the 12-month averages.

In terms of main expenditure groups, an increase of 1.03 % realized in June 2017 in restaurants and hotels, 0.52 % in miscellaneous goods and services, 0.48 % in household goods, and 0.31 % in housing. The group that displayed the highest rate of decrease on a monthly basis has been shoes and wearing apparel at a rate of 1.25 %.

On the other hand DPPI displayed an increase of 0.07 % in June 2017 compared to the previous month, 7.82 % compared to December last year, an increase of 14.87 % compared to the same month last year and 9.98 % according to the 12-month averages.

The changes in the four sectors of industry compared to the previous month realized as a decrease of 1.26 % in mining & quarry sector, an increase of 0.05 % in the manufacturing sector, an increase of 0.90 % in the electricity & gas sector and an increase of 0.36 % in the water sector. The highest rates of increase compared to the previous month realized as 0.90 % in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, 0.82 % in textile products, and 0.71 % in motor land vehicles, trailers and semi trailers. In return, crude oil and natural gas with a decrease of 13.44 %, coke and refined oil products with a decrease of 4.12 % and computers, electronic and optical products with a decrease of 0.69 % have been the sub-sectors with the highest rates of decrease in indices compared to the previous month.
