The new date of the 10th of International Union of Railways (UIC) World High-Speed Train Congress was announced as May 8-11, 2018. The Congress will be held in ATO Congresium in Ankara.

It is learned that participants from various sectors have been invited to the trade show that will be scene to sessions and round table meetings on technical, economic and social topics, as well as latest developments on railway systems within the scope of the congress "UIC HIGH SPEED 2017" focusing on "Sharing information related to sustainable and competitive businesses".

Participants of the congress are senior representatives of railway companies, railway suppliers, research institutions, universities, international organizations, and financial organizations. There will be parallel sessions held in 5 different rooms respectively dedicated to the following Topics; Infrastructure, Railway systems, Stations, Trains, Operations. 

Twice the amount of world population have travelled by high-speed train

About 24 thousand km of high-speed train railways are operated worldwide. While more than 15 billion people, twice the world's population, travel on high-speed trains, this is predicted to be doubled within 20 years.

High-speed train operation started in Turkey with Ankara-Eskişehir line. Added to it were Ankara-Konya line in 2011, Eskişehir-Konya line in 2013, Ankara-Eskişehir-İstanbul line and Konya-İstanbul line in 2014. Construction of Ankara-İzmir, Ankara-Sivas and Bursa-Bilecik high-speed train lines is in progress.
