Cengiz İnşaat Completed Road Construction in Sarajevo
Cengiz İnşaat Director of Projects Abroad Utku Gök, "Cengiz İnşaat has participated in the tender as the only Turkish company with qualification certificate after the scrutiny on motroway project we realized in Bulgaria. In this tender, we competed with European giant companies. We were awarded all three tenders. We have completed the work on 355 million Euro below of set budget of 369 million Euro. Motorway starting in Budapest, capital city of Hungary crosses through Bosnia proceeds towards Adriatic coast. Of the Motorway, 360 km is through Bosnia. We, Cengiz İnşaat, completed 20 km of this".
Cengiz İnşaat, one of the most reputable contracting companies of Turkey, assumed many important projects abroad recently, has completed 20 km section of motorway project in Sarajevo assumed in 2014 before the set timeframe and handed over. Speaking at the ceremony held in Sarajevo by Cengiz İnşaat, Cengiz İnşaat Director of Projects Abroad Utku Gök has furnished information on project Reporting tenders of C-5 motorway, proceeding towards Adriatic sea from Budapest and connecting Europe are of three stages and tenders were launched for all three, Gök said, “Cengiz İnşaat has participated in the tender as the only Turkish company with qualification certificate after the scrutiny on motorway project we realized in Bulgaria. Along this 20 km, 5 km is of tunnels. We have constructed one of the longest tunnels of Europe. This connects with the motorway starting from Greece proceed towards Italy”. Communicating motorway connects North and South of Europe and also completes East and West corridor and it is of both economic and strategic importance, Gök said, “There are two more things important for us. One of them is the revitalizing Bosnia economically where the biggest pains suffered, other is Europe to admit the capacity of Turkish engineers”. Reporting the surprise of EU Commission when work started and continued after tender process, Gök said, “We started fast. We ask for progress payment, Money comes. Works goes rapidly and we ask Money again. They came and controlled and surprised. They admitted that they never see such a fast completed work. Entire dam, included the engineering works have been completed by Turks. We brought 1000 workers from Turkey and we contributed to both agricultural irrigation and electricity generation of the country. Total cost of this dam is USD 948 million. We secured employment for 1500 people in Iraq Erbil Airport we completed in 2010. 1400 people work in ongoing International Quwait Airport Passenger Support Terminal Project, project will be handed over in mid-2018.” Sources close to the subject report that, Sarajevo, C5 Motorway was planned to be 360 km, of this 100 km is subject to a contract, 20 km of this 100 km has been completed by Cengiz İnşaat. New tenders expected to be launched for remaining 260 km of the Motorway. Other projects assumed by Cengiz İnşaat in and out of Turkey Communicating Cengiz İnşaat has signed significant contracts both in the country and abroad, Gök went on to say, “On two of four airports of the world installed on the sea, there is Cengiz İnşaat signature. In 2015, we have completed Ordu-Giresun Airport. We saved people living in Ordu and Giresun from the necessity of using Samsun or Trabzon Airport. Now we construct a new airport on sea between Artvin and Rize. Major amount of engineering know-how and experience of years are required for achieving this. We also involved major part of Ankara-İstanbul high speed train line. Cengiz İnşaat’s signature is also on Zigane tunnel, the longest double tube tunnel of Europe connecting North of Turkey to East. The construction of İstanbul New Airport, the biggest airport of the world continue in full speed.”
