TCDD, Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Project

The initial railing ceremony for the line has been held with the participation of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication Minister Ahmet Arslan

Minister Arslan: “We will put Ankara-Kırıkkale-Yozgat-Sivas line into service in 2019.”

The initial railing ceremony for Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line on which works are underway and which is one of the most extensive high speed train projects of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) General Directorate has been held with the participation of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication Minister Ahmet Arslan.

Minister Arslan said that the high speed train is operating en route Ankara, Eskişehir, Konya and Istanbul and they will complete Konya-Karaman section this year and put into service accordingly. Arslan noting that they will complete works on Ankara-Kırıkkale-Yozgat-Sivas line in a year and put the line into service in 2019, stated that they are still working on Ankara-Polatlı-Afyonkarahisar-Izmir line and the line will be completed in 2020.

Minister Arslan giving information on Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line and stating that there will be high speed train stations at Elmadağ, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, Yıldızeli and Sivas, spoke as follows: “Travel time between Ankara and Yozgat will be one hour, from Yozgat to Sivas one hour, in other words two hours en route Sivas-Yozgat-Ankara and 3.5 hours from Ankara to Istanbul that is to say a dweller of Sivas will be able to travel to Istanbul in 5.5 hours and a dweller in Yozgat will travel to Istanbul in 4.5 hours.” Arslan noting that the project cost is around TL 9 billion, said that the length of the line will be 393 kilometers.

As will be known, Yapı Merkezi executes the superstructure works of Yerköy-Sivas section which constitutes the 1st stage of Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Project TEBA:1822/ June 30, 2017. Also, Doğuş İnşaat executes the superstructure works of Kayaş-Yerköy section which constitutes the 2nd stage of the project TEBA:1842/ November 21, 2017.
