Annual Inflation in March is 10.23%

CPI increased 0.99% in March 2018 compared to previous month, 2.77% compare to December of previous year, 10.23% compare to same month of previous year and 11.14% on 12 month averages

Turkey Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released inflation data of March. Consumer Prices Index (CPI) increased 0.99% in March 2018 compared to previous month, 2.77% compare to December of previous year, 10.23% compare to same month of previous year and 11.14% on 12 month averages.

Highest monthly increase is in food and non-alcoholic beverages with 2.03%

In terms of main expenditure groups, in March 2018, in health 1.90%, clothing and footwear 1.05%, in education 0.94% and restaurants and hotels 0.83% increase experienced. In terms of main expenditure groups, no decrease seen in index in any group in March 2018. 

In CPI, transportation with 13.41%, restaurants and hotels with 11.67%, education and various commodities and services with 10.87% have been other main expenditure groups with highest increase.

Domestic Producer Price Index (DO-PPI)

Domestic Producer Price Index (DO-PPI) increased 1.54 in March 2018 compared to previous month, 5.29% compared to December of previous year, 14.28% compare to same month of previous year and 15.35% on twelve month averages.

Changes in four sectors of industry compare to previous month are 0.23% in mining and quarries sector, 1.79% in manufacturing sector, 0.76% increase in water sector, 0.84% decrease in electricity and gas sector. Highest increase compared to previous month has been in basic pharmacological products with 5.91%, main metals with 3.60%, motorized land vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers with 2.85%. In return, sub-sectors with lowest monthly indexes have been crude oil and natural gas with 5.00%, electricity and gas with 0.84%, leather and leather products with 0.78% compare to previous month.
