We are also doing this in the energy sector. The total investment amount of the two WPP projects for which we have realized the tender for the turbines of the wind power plants is US$ 240 million. There was high interest in the tender we announced for the procurement of turbines for the investment in question. The interest shown in the tender by the most prominent and powerful suppliers in the world has been a matter of happiness for us in the best sense despite several uncertainties in currency rates and in a period when the country is in an election climate. Such an interest is an indicator of the trust shown for Borusan and the Turkish economy. We decided to move on with Vestas which is one of the most significant turbine manufacturers in the world. This is not our first cooperation with them. We have worked together in very significant projects in the past as well. We believe that we will get the best and efficient results also in the investment in question.” Borusan EnBW Energy General Manager Mehmet Acarla On the other hand, Borusan EnBW Energy General Manager Mehmet Acarla also commenting on the new investments, made the following statement: “We decisively keep moving on with the vision of being the sector leader in developing the renewable energy resources of our country and in wind power. We also wish to put our remaining projects in our portfolio which are being developed, into operation at the soonest. A total installed power of 210 MW will come to reality when the investment is completed and we will make a power generation of 725 GWh per annum. This stands for covering the energy demand of around 300,000 households on an annual basis besides decreasing a CO2 emission of 400,000 tons per year.”
