Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Project

"Electricity Transmission System Connection" agreement has been signed between Akkuyu Nuclear AŞ and Turkey Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ).

According to announcement of Akkuyu Nuclear AŞ, comprehensive work will start for installing an electricity system having 6 high voltage lines to secure connection of Akkuyu NGS to the system within the coverage of agreement.  Akkuyu NGS will be integrated into Turkey's joint electricity transmission system through  6 sub-stations and electricity to be generated by the Power Plant will be transmitted to sub-stations by 400-kilovolt capacity transmission lines. Construction and maintenance of all lines required for Akkuyu NGS's connection will be conducted by TEİAŞ.

In the announcement, Akkuyu Nuclear Director General Anastasia Zoteeva has noted that by the agreement Turkey's energy infrastructure would be integrated to Akkuyu NGS and said, "Accommodation of an external electricity system with harmonization parameters is directly connected with maintaining reliability and security of NGS management. For this reason, it goes without saying that signing this agreement can be considered as one of the most important stages of Akkuyu NGS project".
