Head of European Union (AB) Delegation to Turkey, Christian Berger spoke in "Post Covid-19 Turkey-EU Economic and Commercial Relations" webinar organized by Adana Chamber of Industry (ADASO). In his speech, Berger has noted that because of Covid-19, the unemployment rate in Europe this year expected to be about 9%, that budget deficit might be far above the planned figures. Communicating Turkey is a link of EU’s supply chain, Berger said, "We have faced and still are facing serious problems in cash flow of accessing supply and raw material. The mishaps in this field have an adverse impact on textile, machinery and equipments and motor vehicles industries. EU has learned the lesson from Covid-19 as the importance of cooperation. We have to protect our historical trade relations based on trust. Mishaps experienced in visa and logistics require the cooperation of institutions of both sides. Turkey's production infrastructure is strong. Production is on EU standards. So, Turkey is an attractive and impressive country and this is an opportunity. Turkey has already young, qualified and technology prone labor population. In this respect, has a sufficient infrastructure. I hope after Covid-19 period ended, our bilateral relations would continue to be stronger than ever before."
