Tekfen İnşaat Consortium Signed a Contract Worth € 2.4 Billion for the Construction of Natural Gas Storage Facilities in Tarsus, Mersin

Tekfen İnşaat-HMB-Vinci Consortium undertook the engineering and turnkey construction works of two natural gas storage plants of Bendis Enerji totaling to 4 billion cubic meters in Tarsus, Mersin. The total share of Tekfen İnşaat and HMB in the contracts will be € 723 million. Works are foreseen to be completed in 5 years

The consortium participated by Tekfen İnşaat, a subsidiary of Tekfen Holding signed two contracts amounting to € 2.4 billion for underground natural gas storage facilities in Tarsus, Mersin.

According to a disclosure made to KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) the consortium formed by Tekfen İnşaat with HMB (Hallesche Mitteldeutsche Bau AG.) and Entrepose Contracting of Vinci Group from France signed two agreements worth € 2.4 billion for the engineering, supply, construction and commissioning of underground natural gas storage facilities with a total capacity of 4 billion cubic meters to be built on two locations in close vicinity at Tarsus, Mersin. It is stated that the total share of Tekfen İnşaat and HMB in the contracts will be € 723 million.

The construction works of two natural gas storage plants/facilities to be built in Tarsus, Mersin owned by Toren Natural Gas Storage and Gas Storage and Mining which are subsidiaries of Bendis Enerji, are aimed to be completed in 5 years.

Natural gas storage licenses were given by EMRA in 2014 for a period of 30 years to Toren Doğalgaz Depolama ve Madencilik A.Ş. (Toren Natural Gas Storage & Mining Inc.) and Gaz Depo ve Madencilik A.Ş. (Gas Storage and Mining Inc.) which are subsidiaries of Bendis Enerji founded in 2008 that has activities in power generation, mining, electricity wholesale, natural gas wholesale and storage besides renewable energy and thermal power plants in Turkey.
