Contractors Delegation Meets Japan Contractors

TMB Acting President Burak Talu, "In Africa, China may be left out of Works. It is just right time to put in together with Japan. Both sides have motivation to cooperate. There are lots of work in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam but we are not there. We can go together with Japan to these regions. JICA and JBIC will extend support to various projects throughout the world to cost USD 200 billion."

Turkey Contractors Union (TMB) acting President and Doğuş İnşaat Executive Board member Burak Talu has commented on Turk-Japan Contracting Cooperation Seminar held in Japan with the participation of Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi. 

Noting the meeting was participated by biggest contracting companies member of Japan International Contractors Union (OCAJI) and the managers of biggest companies of Turkey, Talu has said that in the meeting both sides gave joint message of  "We are companies to complement each other".

Talu has underlined that Japans were best in work discipline, planning, designing and technology, said, "We have to realize work capacity. We assume Works at tough geographies. Our risk assuming level is high. We have proper work force to fulfill such Works. We have capacity to improve relations, we have good engineering skills and we are faster".

"In Africa, Turk-Japan partnership is needed"

Talu has noted that in Africa there were big countries in Africa, particularly in the East, suitable for work, like Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Uganda and Ruanda, and also countries like Ivory Coast and Angola in the West Africa could be gone. China has assumed major Works for 20 years in Africa but  Chinese contractors not liked well said Talu, "They did not feed the local economy, they did not use local workers. Right now, Turk-Japan partnership is most needed. Africa intends to leave China out of work. It is right time to go with Japan to demand work. Both sides have motivation to cooperate".

Talu has underlined that Japan might go together with Turk contractors to Southeastern Asia where they are strong and said, "There are lots of work in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam but we are not there. We can go together with Japan to these regions".

Communicating the Meeting was participated by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan International Cooperation Bank (JBIC) along with Turk Eximbank and information furnished on the financing possibilities, Talu went on to say,

"These two Japan financing agency will extend support to various projects throughout the world to cost USD 200 billion. They extend long term financing. They already gave us the list of projects to be supported and we (TMB) will publicize the list."
