In April Annual Inflation is 10.85 Percent

CPI increased 1.87 percent in April 2018 compared to previous month, 4.69 percent compared to December last year, 10.85 percent compared to the same month of previous year and 11.06 percent on the basis of twelve month averages

Turkey Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released inflation data of April. Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 1.87 percent in April 2018 compared to previous month, 4.69 percent compared to December of previous year, 10.85 percent compared to same month of previous year and 11.06 percent on the basis of twelve month averages.

Highest monthly increase is in clothing and footwear with 10.40 percent

In April 2018, increase has been 3.54 percent in transportation, 2.32 percent in various goods and services, 2.11 percent house commodities and 1.67 percent in entertainment and culture in terms of main expenditure groups.

Other main expenditure groups of which CPI increase highest compared to the same month of previous year are transportation sector with 16.45 percent, clothing and footwear and various other goods and services with 12.03 percent and restaurants and hotels with 11.88 percent.

Domestic producer price index (DO-PPI) increased 2.60 percent in April 2018 compared to previous month, 8.03 percent  compared to previous December, 16.37 percent compared to same month of preivous year and 15.36 percent on the basis of twelve month averages.

In terms of main industrial groups, the highest monthly increase in April 2018 has been in energy and annual highest increase has been in intermediary goods. Highest monthly increase has been in coke and refined oil products. Highest increase compared to previous month has been 10.35 percent in coke and refined oil products, 9.80 percent in printing and registration services and 4.81 percent in metal ores.
