Uzbekistan, Semerkand PPP Model Hospital Project

The Health Ministry of Uzbekistan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Partnership of Rönesans from Turkiye and Sojitz from Japan for the construction of a Hospital in Semerkand.

According to information obtained by TEBA, the hospital will be designed as a multidisciplinary medical center with 800 beds. The estimated cost of the project is declared as $ 300 million. The hospital is considered to be put into life with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Construction works of the hospital are planned to be started in 2025. Procedures are foreseen to be started for the securing of funds to finance the project.

Related parties have also reached an agreement on the joint training of health personnel.

The number of private hospitals in Uzbekistan increased by 2.7 times in the past 8 years reaching 8,800 as the figure in question keeps on increasing by around 500 to 600 each year.

As will be recalled, we previously reported that Rönesans Group had also undertaken the construction of the PPP model Kokshetau Hospital in Kazakstan with 630 beds and AIIB would be providing loans worth € 110 million to finance the project TEBA:June 26, 2024

On the other hand, we recently reported that President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev supported the extension of the portfolio of promising projects with Turkish companies and the development of inter-regional cooperation during the third session of the Uzbek-Turk Strategic Cooperation Council and evaluations were made on 158 new projects of Uzbekistan worth $ 10.1 billion.
