Tekfen İnşaat Undertakes the Construction Works of the Fiber Production Plant of SASA

SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş. has disclosed that decision has been taken on signing an agreement with Tekfen İnşaat ve Tesisat A.Ş. for the construction works of the Fiber Production Plant and Textile Chips, Bottle Chips and PET Chips Production Plant (New PSF and MTR Plants) to be built in Adana-Seyhan. It is stated in a disclosure made by SASA to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that the cost of the project has been calculated as US$ 61 million excluding taxes and the period of works has been set as 25 months including mobilization works. Also, Tekfen Holding stated in a notification made to KAP that “they have received the letter stating that “they have been awarded the contract to undertake the construction works of the New PSF and MTR Plants planned to be built at SASA Adana Facilities”. Works are foreseen to be started in the coming days upon signing of the contract aiming to put the plant into operation in the second half of 2024. As will be recalled, we reported that a “Positive EIA Opinion” was given on the project encompassing New fiber and MTR (Melt to Resin) plants to be built in addition to the fiber and polymer plants besides production plants already being operated by SASA and those with ongoing works planning a capacity increase in the production of fiber and PET chips (textile and bottle chips) TEBA:2053/ January 20, 2022 The Fiber Production Plant is foreseen to be built at a capacity of 1,100 tons per day with a polymer production rate of 100 tons per day within the scope of the project. Mono, bicolor, multi-color and low melt fiber production will be made at a rate of 1,150 tons per day with the polymer to be produced. Optionally, textile chips of 700 tons per day will also be produced. The MTR plant will have a polymer production capacity of 1,050 tons per day. The polymer to be produced will be used for the production of PET resin Bottle chips at a rate of 900 tons per day or PET Textile and/or film chips at a rate of 1i050 tons per day TEBA:2017/ April 27, 2021
